Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) Training

LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling), authored by Dr. Louisa Moats and Dr. Carol Tolman is a professional development course with content on dyslexia, approved by the IDOE. Participants will complete a flexible, self-paced online course with the added benefit of joining an optional discussion group hosted by IDA Indiana. The first 75 participants to register will receive a stipend from IDA Indiana upon completion of the course. LETRS is a comprehensive and meaningful professional learning opportunity for all educators, parents, and advocates who want to learn about the science of reading. Training Information

We at the IDA Indiana are excited to support this professional development opportunity.

LETRS is a comprehensive and meaningful professional learning opportunity for all educators, parents, and advocates who want to learn about the science of reading.

Participants will complete a flexible, self-paced online course with the added benefit of joining an optional discussion group hosted by IDA Indiana.

The first 75 participants to register will receive a stipend from IDA Indiana upon completion of the course.

Registration Closes:  July 1, 2022

Registration deadline for the IDA Indiana Cohort with stipend eligibility July 1, 2022

Course Begins:  August 5, 2022

Cost (units 1-4):  $369

Cost (units 5-8):  $369

Completion Date:  September 30, 2023

Receive a Stipend Upon Completion:

IDA Members: $250.00
Non IDA Members: $150.00

Completion certificates from LETRS must be received by IDA Indiana no later than midnight September 30, 2023 for all stipends to be issued.

In order to receive a stipend for LETRS, participants must:

1. Stipends are available for Indiana and Illinois residents who register for LETRS by July 1, 2022.  (You can use the “Register for LETRS Training” button above.)
 
2. Certificate of Completion must be submitted to IDA Indiana by September 30, 2023 to receive stipend.
 
3. In order to receive the $250 IDA Member stipend, registrants must provide their IDA Membership Number. Only one stipend per Membership Number. Non IDA members receive a $150 stipend.
 
Stipends are Limited to the first 75 Indiana or Illinois registrants who complete the first two steps above
